Now that you have decided in which college you are going to study in Australia, the next first thing remaining is to find an accommodation to stay. Australian Universities offers very wide range of accommodation options for international students. Here are the some tips to choose an accommodation which is safe for less cost:

1. Home-stay:

In this kind of accommodation option, the international students lives with a native Australian family in their home. This is one of the best way to integrate into the Australian culture. Home stay accommodation often include meals and cleaning too. The accommodation services at Australian universities maintain a register of approved homestay providers. The cost may vary from AUD$110 to AUD$270 depending on the type of the room(shared/single) and service you prefer.

2. University / On Campus Accommodation:

By accommodating in the university campus you can minimize the travel to college. Australian Universities provide three different kinds of on-campus accommodations:(residential colleges, halls of residence and apartments) and the cost approximately varies from AUD$80 to AUD$250.
  •  Residential colleges: This kind of accommodation is a bit expensive than the remaining two, because of the wide range of facilities it is providing. The facilities includes accommodation, cleaning, meals, shared bathrooms, private rooms, dining halls, recreation areas, etc.,
  • Halls of residence: This kind of accommodation offers little less services and at the same time they are less expensive. The services includes accommodation, meals with self-catering and cleaning. The self catering will enable students to be independent. Some includes private rooms and dining halls too.
  • Apartments: Sometimes institutions may offer apartments for rents either within campus or close to the campus. But this kind of accommodation provides very minimum services with the security of university approved accommodations.Services may include accommodation, self-catered living.

3. Private Rentals:

Students can rent a house by themselves and they can share with friends. The rental properties require to pay the rent in advance. To rent an apartment first you have to sign the lease for the required number of months which is called “bond”. Usually the rented houses will be barely furnished where you have to buy your own furniture. The other option you can move to the house which is already rented  by your friends before. The cost of shared rental accommodation may vary from AUD$70 to AUD$250.
